J.K. Rowling's back with
prequel to the seven Potter series
New
Delhi, Nov 20 (IANS) Here's some good news for all the Harry
Potter fans! J.K. Rowling, the creator of the famous boy wizard,
is now ready with another addition to the seven books - The
Tales of Beedle the Bard - which is a prequel to the series.
Set
to be released worldwide Dec 4, The Tales of Beedle the Bard
consists of five wizarding fairy tales, referred in the last
book of the series - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
These
tales reveal some key plot points and enclose clues that turned
out to be crucial to Harry Potter's final mission to destroy
Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes and ultimately defeat the Dark
Lord.
The
Harry Potter series are famous and much loved worldwide, having
sold more than 400 million copies and won multiple awards.
Some of them have been made into movies as well.
Rowling's
latest work, since it rides on references to three of her
most loved characters - Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione
Granger - is certain to be a bestseller and catapult her to
fame and popularity once again.
The
Tales of Beedle the Bard acts as the vehicle for introducing
the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the ultimate novel
of the series.
It
is a plot device in the book, in which it is bequeathed to
Hermione - one of Harry's best friends - by recently-deceased
Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft
and Wizardry, where Harry and his friends study.
The
book is described as a collection of popular fairy tales well-known
to children of wizarding families, and thus Ron is familiar
with them, while Harry and Hermione had not previously heard
them due to their non-magical upbringing.
