Oberoi group's terror-hit
Trident Hotel to reopen Dec 21
Mumbai,
Dec 4 (IANS) The Oberoi group's Trident Hotel here, which
was one of the 10 places in India's commercial capital targeted
by terrorists last week, is set to reopen Dec 21, the company
said Thursday.
"The
hotel will reopen about three weeks after it sustained damage
during the terrorist attacks in Mumbai on Nov 26," said
the Oberoi group, referring to the downtown property.
"When
the hotel reopens, enhanced security will be in place to ensure
the safety and comfort of guests and staff. The local law
enforcement agencies have also been requested to extend all
assistance,” said the statement.
“A
round-the-clock effort is underway by the management and staff
to ensure that the hotel is ready to receive guests.”
The
group has two adjacent hotels in the premises - the Trident
and the Oberoi. The latter suffered more damages and the management
is still to ascertain when it will reopen.
As
many as 316 guests from the Trident and 135 guests from the
Oberoi were evacuated following the attack since the 60-hour
terror strike began the Nov 26 night.
But
four resident guests, another 18 visitors dining in the restaurants
and 10 staff members lost their lives, the management said.
